If your child is going to be absent, notify the school by:

1. SchoolMessenger Attendance Reporting System
2. Call the toll free number: 1-844-305-3756
3. Report the absence through our smartphone mobile application:
   • App Store: SchoolMessenger
   • Google Play: SchoolMessenger
   • Adding a PIN to School Messenger

**Please note that if your child is doing Remote Learning you must choose the REMOTE school from the list of schools for your child, not Bonaventure.

Students who attend school regularly tend to be more engaged in their learning, feel more connected to the school and have better academic outcomes than students who miss a lot of school.  For more information regarding creating an account or reporting your child's absence, please see our Step By Step Guide.

Did you know?

• If your child is 20 minutes late every day, he/she will have missed 12 days of school instruction by the end of the school year.
• If your child misses two days of school per month, he/she will have missed one month worth of instruction by the end of the school year.
• Students who are absent 15 days of school each year will have lost one year of instruction by the end of grade 12.

We can help

Let your school know if there is a problem or concern. There are many ways we can work together to get attendance back on track, or prevent an attendance problem from starting.

School dismissal time is 3:30 p.m. If you need to pick up your child early, please contact the main office.

All students must be signed in at the office when arriving late for school, even when you have entered the late into TVDSB Attendance/School Messenger.
